We were thrilled to be able to work with Cleansing Service Group for a second time and to produce an illustrated family history that could be proudly shared with their staff. Third Millennium was charged with ensuring that this second edition integrated the staff within the company story and although we already had the basic text structure, we had to work closely with CSG to find the best way to adapt this framework to include their staff stories.

At the beginning of the process CSG organised a ‘title competition’ for staff, friends and family, engaging their readership at the very outset of the project and ensuring their investment in the final product. With over 100 ideas put forward, it was clear that the CSG community was excited about the upcoming history.

Author Nigel Watson curated the updated text and our design department experimented with a clean internal layout that would balance the older archival images with the newer selection of recent photographs. Our project manager coordinated the production process, and ensured a seamless publishing experience for CSG.

The Hart of Waste is a smartly sized hardback with an attractive matt finish and lightly textured red quarter binding over the spine with an embossed CSG logo. The matt paper stock echoes the cover and the red and white striped head and tail bands at the top and bottom of the book tie in nicely with the binding. The monochromatic tiles endpapers feature a series of trucks and speak to the fun, energetic environment that characterises CSG.
