Fighting the Worlds Fights: Rhodes Scholars in Oxford and Beyond is unique in being largely written by members of the Rhodes community themselves and focusing on their own experiences in Oxford and beyond. Eight thousand Scholars across 113 years and more than 100 countries are represented within its pages. Representing the increasing diversity of the Rhodes community through the decades, and showcasing photos, memorabilia and reminiscences from the Scholars themselves, the text is supplemented by extensive archive research and newly commissioned photography.

After profiling the history of the Scholarships from its origins to the present day, the book looks at Rhodes House and Gardens and how its spaces are used by the community. The third section features a series of inspirational essays from Rhodes Scholars from different eras, constituencies and career paths in which they reminisce about their Oxford experience and consider the impact of the Scholarship on their future lives.

At a time when the Rhodes Trust is embarking on strategic and geographic expansion for its second century, the book shows the myriad ways in which the members of this vibrant and diverse community continue to show ethical leadership and engage with the problems of our time.
